As some of you know, I was laid off at the beginning of the month.
I got no severance, and the company didn’t pay my May commission.
I didn’t know what to do, so I contacted that guy, Dan Goodman. I had seen him a few times on my LI feed: he specializes in that stuff.
He told me to look into my contract for the unused PTO payout, write them an official letter stating everything, and see how things would go. While looking through my contract, I saw that I was eligible for a 2-week severance in case of a layoff.
I wrote them a letter that seemed like it was written by a lawyer (thanks, ChatGPT), and after a couple of follow-ups, I got everything (May Commission, unused PTO, and a 2-week severance).
So yeah just wanted to write this for people in a similar situation; fight for your stuff. Worst thing that happens is they will say no.
