Would you prospect a company that requires WFO if you had to do it?

Deciding if it's better to take FU money and live my best life for a while.

Prospecting for new roles here and there and making progress.

If things aren't what I want them to be, why settle?

I know if I need a role there are some companies around me hiring always but they are also revolving door types too.

What would you do?

This has basically been my thoughts on the matter.
I'm just not in a position where I have no choice though, but figure it's better to have the choice and not need it, than need the choice and be forced to choose.

I'd do it for a while and see how it works out. Maybe there are aspects you just aren't considering.

And if it doesn't.... you're on a paid job search. Win-win.

That's what I was thinking, but I don't know if I can get on board 5 day a week commuting grind.

do it for a bit and then present the case to WFH a couple days/week, which eventually turns into nearly everyday.

Oh no. This company would never do that.
Maybe things are different once you go internal, but it's something to look out for sure.

Iโ€™ve seriously never heard WFO as work from office. Iโ€™ve heard on site, in office, but never seen WFO

Work from Office! That looked so strange in the abbreviation.

I quite like the office. However at the moment I'm remote because commuting is too challenging and doesn't suit my current life situation. Any changes you could make so that it would be easier for you to be in WFO environment?

Probably change my entire mindset and belief structure. I feel like it's not going to happen though.

It's really tough to not take FU money, there is a trade-off of happiness usually but I've never seen a sad person on a jet ski

I will take it for a while to keep the cash flow on. Never know this might open some other perspective in a good way.

I don't have any inherent objections to being in an office. I'm not in a big tech market though (90 minutes or so from Austin, which is the closest tech hub) so most in-office jobs would require either a lengthy commute, or a relocation. It would have to be a really special role for me to do that.

Going into the office is not all bad. Depends on where you are in your career. I do often wonder what the future holds with so many reps that have never worked in an office environment. Not saying it's a bad thing, just curious. There can be a lot of good that comes out of being in office, assuming the company is good and the office culture is solid.

That said, it would take a lot to get me to go back to full time in office at this point.

Yeah that's the thing. Company isn't viewed as any of those things based on what current and past reps say.

You get a solid territory, you could be golden.
But why would someone just coming in after years magically get that? Talk about lucky...

Itโ€™s nice going in the office. Meet your colleagues, build relationships with your team. If there was a hybrid option sure. Fully remote now with some travel and itโ€™s unlikely I would ever go full time WFO again.

Like the way of thinking and I believe there's still a plenty of WFH opportunities that task the same role, I would set a plan within a specific time frame to find em if I were you(3 to 6 mo let's say).
If it's a bingo within that's great, if not then I would apply for the WFO ones and keep applying for the others simultaneously till finding one!
Just never stop looking.
