Yesterday marked a critical point for a 10 day all out battle during a new customer's usage ramp.
Shit broke from every direction. Fault from every side. All time zones involved.
It came down to a live slack thread between me and a CTO for roughly 48 hours to get to success.
Me, fucking Tommy Boy, and a highly educated CTO troubleshooting.
In the end, money started flowing for all and a soldier's bond was formed.
Takeaways
- Do what you said you would, even if it takes almost unbearable effort
- Even if you like to play the dumb sales rep, you can learn quick
- Your team really does have the best intention to help, but the buck stops at you to get revenue moving...whatever it takes
- Shit happens, people remember what you did to fix it
If today sucked for you...kick your feet up, chill for the weekend, look for a better day on Monday.
