A newbie Sales Executive here

Hi, y'all!

DISCLAIMER: TL;DR

Never ever posted anything here, however I had been reading a lot of the threads, and have been so helpful in my growth in the sales career!

So this is why I'm encouraged today.

I started my career as a BDR in a service-based startup, I literally learned and did all the process in a sales cycle in there, so was helpful to discover more about this world.

Unfortunately, in that company there's not so much space to grow, so I decided to see new oportunities.

But there are the good news! I recently started a new position as an Sales Executive, but in a totally different industry.

I know the basics of sales, however this is a high-ticket sales, and in my short career I haven't managed something like that before.

f.e.:  In the last one I sold services, now I sell products. They were sales usually less than 8k, now the lowest sale is 25k. The previous one was an agency, this is a real estate company They used to be cold sales, now I get the hot leads. I went from B2B to B2C, etc.

Long short story: I'll appreciate a lot to hear pieces of advices, tips and recommendations for my new adventure. So any be of great help to me.

Thanks a lot!

First goal in those conversations is to get to the prospect’s side of the desk immediately. Those people are calling for one of two reasons, verify and listen, or eliminate. You gotta be the verifier in chief.

Yes, I understand. Yes, I’m credible. Yes, I have your best interest at heart. And you’ve got about 12 seconds to establish all of it.

Last: Do not ever be scared to ask for the order. But be wise enough to earn the right before you ask. Good luck, savage!

So what exactly do you sell then? Are you meeting face to face or just via phone/email/etc? B2C is a different animal for sure. What made you make this jump to this role specifically?

I sold staffing services, however I didn't close the sale. I prospected, did the cold outreach and the discovery meeting. That were mostly via email and Zoom.

I jumped to this role mostly because of freedom of time and place and I want to make the sales close.

Well, it’s awesome that you posted and great that you’re enjoying and learning from this community. Welcome aboard.

Great transition story, just focus on being the best and you’d know why all of us are here. We’re just at it!

Hot leads are anyways great, know what to ask, pick up a mentor, learn sales through sales only.
Try figuring out what works and which way works for you. Remember always A/B test.

Best of luck with your role, we’re looking forward to more of your stories and discussions.

first off HUGE congrats to you! Many folks really struggle to get out of small ticket sales to a larger ticket sales.

1. focus all your time on the hot leads first 2. try to figure out what industry specific knowledge you lack and talk to your team about it to get up to speed fast. You dont need to be an industry expert or a product expert but you need to know enough to sound intelligent. 3. One major difference I saw when i went from small deals to larger deals, is there may be more people invovled in closing deals. So make sure part of your discovery process is to understand this process. The worst thing is when you think you have a deal and then they tell you they need to go to their boss.

If they are coming in warm it means you are competing with several others to get their business, not sure if it will be a race to the bottom or features and functionality but know it will likely be somewhat cut throat to win. embrace it
