Accepting an offer with conditions...

So there is this great company that is interested in me (the feeling is mutual) and I just went out to lunch with the hiring manager.

He is anxious to hire someone asap.

I would be looking for a $20k base raise and some kind of compensation (signing bonus) to off set the commission that i'm going to be walking away from, and have flexibility to work from home.

Do you feel like that is too much to ask for??

Ask for what you want/know you're worth and accept nothing less. If they want you then they'll give it to you. If they are desperate for a body that'll take less, then it's not your spot.

I think you left some meat on the bone. Its a hot market, ask for everything you want and don't ever forget, "Not a dime back"

Call me what you want, just sign the damn contract
I would argue you aren't asking for enough.

In this market, a $20K base raise is table stakes. As is work location flex. Thatโ€™s literally why the great resignation is happening.

No dude. If you want 20k, ask for 30k. Idk how common signing bonuses are but while I'm not fielding recruiter calls, since I'm happy with my role the ONLY way I'd take a call even from a company I was interested in is not just increased OTE that's a given, but a significant base bump and assurances that WFH is permanent.ย

As someone else said, I would ask for 30 because they will possibly try and negotiate you down slightly and hopefully land on the 20 that you want.ย ย

No. think about it man when are you likely to get the best offer when you are interviewing or ask to change it when you are already an employee? Answer: When they're trying to recruit you. If you don't ask you don't getย
