Alcohol sales rep?

Pretty much how it sounds. Having some trouble breaking into the SaaS industry, but have an interview lined up for SDR role in the alcohol industry. Does all SDR experience look the same, or would selling a physical product like that be a hard sell when transitioning industries in the future?

Any advice is appreciated, and thanks in advance.

I really wanted to get into this when I was earlier in my career, but never ended up doing it. Territory management for a massive brewery.

Not sure exactly how an SDR function would fit in but I'm curious.

And as @CuriousFoxsaid - sales is sales

well I mean.. people tend to drink more during a recession and then they also tend to drink more with progression. So, I think that alcohol sales with always be existent.

alcohol sales is a pretty lucrative industry. I know a couple people who work in that space and make great money.

Firearm sales for a distributor to local shops is also a really high paying more niche space. And from what I've heard, a really fun one to be in with all the events and what not that you get to go to

sales is sales.....except for Saas.

im sure this job could be legit but I would expect Saas companies to still look down on that role.

which is stupid and annoying and not right. but...it is what it is

Not sure where you are but in New England alcohol sales are controlled by distributors. It is difficult to break into alcohol sales here as they want direct experience. I’ve tried and been told that they are looking outside but ultimately always hired someone w/direct experience.

I found it interesting as all the sales people would jump from one competitor to another on a regular basis. Always felt it would be confusing for customers as to which product is better.

if u can get in That is great! My cousin has been in it for many years and with several different companies. He likes it and has made real good money!

Cold calling is cold calling. And if you have the experience, interviewing at SaaS company is selling yourself to them (that you can cold call for them!).
It's all the same underneath
