AllBirds sneakers, still SalesForce Ones?

This is so nerdy, I can't believe I'm even asking.

In a few months I have a trade show coming up and I'll be meeting my remote team for the first time. I'm their manager once removed, and while I don't expect them to think I am cool in any way, would they judge me for wearing non-cool sneakers? Should I wear my AllBirds or is that cheugy now?

If you are going to be standing at a trade show all day, wear whatever you want. I wear fucking Hokas lol I’d rather not have my knees and back kill me at the end of the day. If you want to still look somewhat professional, Cole Haan is the way to go.

I have $1000 shoes and I have $10 shoes and what I’d settle for is whatever is most comfortable without looking like a hobo.

At a trade show, where I’d be donning a company shirt, the shoes don’t really matter. I’d say casual dress sneakers if you’re on your feet all day but I honestly wouldn’t give it much thought

I think its important to look like a boss at a trade show. You are there to be "executive support" to your people- not be their drinking buddy after show hours.

I hit a conference this week. Up all day long, brutal. Rotated allbirds during the day week. Looked money, in my humble uncool opinion.

Also the conference was so much more casual than usual. Didn’t see a single suit all week.

For trade shows I either go full suit, tie, and Allen Edmonds, or I go for dark jeans, blazer, and boots. Depends on the conference.

Gartner? NRF? Dress shoes

Smaller, more curated trade show, or some kind of industry certification gig? Boots

Both choices of footwear seem to keep my dogs happy for 12-16 hours of uptime.
