Alternative lead collection at show?

My company is sponsoring a large conference. We have a table for demos and expect decent traffic.

The issue is the conference doesn't offer lead capture by app or device. It's a security conference so they're always leery.

I'd like to collect as many contacts as a I can and am looking for out of the box ideas.

Current plan is to raffle a decent prize ($300) that most of the attendees would enjoy in exchange for filling out a simple form on a tablet.

Any other suggestions? What has worked for y'all?

I have two: Gamification and Photobooth.

People are suckers for both. Maybe you can create a cyber-security-themed game / pop quiz and giveaways for the winners? The gamecan cover topics like password security, network security, cyber threats, etc. Or maybe simple cryptic puzzles.

For a photobooth, maybe you can have some props? People love getting clicked with ridiculous props. Like a squid game or money heist mask, to depict hackers. Or a fishing pole, bait, or nets to depict phishing? An "Access Denied" placard?

Good luck with the event!

This is a great idea! And the line you'll get will attract attention, and more buzz around your booth.

The raffle always worked for us. Also giveaways of any kind - t shirts were a big hit at the last conference I was at.

Good call. Our swag is subpar though so not sure if it's a fair trade for an email.

That's too bad. If you have the budget, you could tier the swag. Free is the pen, email gets you a better iterm and/or a raffle entry. The raffle might be enough, though.

Only concern would be that you might get volume but the quality will likely suffer, as people would be interested in the table not your product. Maybe there is a way to include some sort of game or quiz that relates to your product or service?

Interesting. We were thinking of asking them to start a free trial using a specific URL we could track, but I'm worried that's too high a bar.

Yeah, that’s probably too much of a commitment. I was thinking maybe you have some interesting thought leadership content that could be turned into a quiz or game that would get people engaged, spirited competition and maybe even present some thought provoking information.

Stand at the booth, talk to people, ask for their business cards. Those are the people who will actually buy from you

Stupid question but: are business cards a thing of the past?

I really like the raffle idea; it's something I would certainly enter into. Is there you can collect their info via their registration or has that time passed?

How about just getting business cards.

People in IT security don't have business card

That’s so interesting you not having lead capture. I was just at an Expo where everyone had a QR code so the people at the booth could scan and save contact information. Sometimes the old ways are the best ways though, nothing like a raffle and a bin for people to drop business cards into.

Try Various Giveaways, that would work👍

Are you getting an attendee list?

why do you want to collect as many contact as possible?

most conferences give you an attendee list that you can use.

the raffle is not a terrible idea, if you can use it to actually TALK to ppl as they are filling it out and figure out if they are someone you would want to talk to at all.

That's exactly what I did. Had a big shiny prize with a colorful bow everyone wanted it - so I had them fill out info and drop it in a box or drop their biz card instead.

Last trade show I was at there was a small booth giving away gallon sized bottles of Tabasco Sauce. Attracted a ton of attention.

Raffle is great. Business card drawing works well. You can also do a LinkedIn connection on the spot. I’ve also seen putting contests that drew lots of people. If people have the expectation of being marketed/sold too that’s also a one up
