An AE`s Wish list

We`re having our sales kick off second week of January, and my manager asked us to put together a wish list - what we see as improvements we can have next year in the process, tools, anything.


So, wanted to ask you savages: what`s something you`d ask for?


Here`s a bit of context: I`m a senior AE, with only another junior AE on the team, pre-sales team is 4 ppl, with an SDR team of 4. We`re selling a SaaS solution to enterprise customers ( 5,000 employees plus), in a pretty niche HR Tech space. 2022 went great, targets met and slightly above that too.


I have some ideas of what I`ll ask for, but wanted to tap into your genius as well :)

Sounds like you have a good process in place, targets are being met and there is a focus on good performance.

My thought would be to focus on parts of the sales cycle that seem to take the longest but shouldn't. Outside of that, perhaps one or two more SDRs to help build pipeline.

Yep, plan is to hire two more sdrs by q2. As for the parts of the cycle that seem too long, def the setup of the demo instances (customization of design, sorting the dummy data etc.). Thanks for the comment, got me thinking :)

Well.. there’s hubspot and not much else. For lead generation, we depend a lot on our partner network so sdrs are usually picking up MQLs from that source. Getting leads from direct outreach is pretty hard.. are you suggesting something like zoominfo’s intent data tool?

Honestly, don't ask us. Ask the people higher up in the funnel. What are their biggest daily headaches? How are you losing the most deals? What kinds of things motivate your team? Is your team struggling with prospecting/MQLs, SQLs, etc? Where is your biggest breakdown?

Start here. Your team will be able to answer the questions better than we can.
