Any luck with super short email outreach?

I know it's common to have a great response rate for quick second email attempts. "thoughts?" is a common one.

How about really brief FIRST emails? Curious if this has ever worked?

Maybe like:

"Greg, I think we can help.

I just onboarded X and the Y is amazing.

Thoughts?"

I havent used anything that short on the first cold email, but I assume the shorter the email the more responses you get.

Prospects like short emails. Even better if you can bullet point for a quick glance.

Considering people tend to check emails on their phone, keeping it at phone screen length is worthwhile

I'll answer your question with another question.

Would you rather read a page long email trying to tell you one thing or 2 sentences telling you the same thing?

Brevity is underrated. As long as the value prop is there and your message is clear, it should work very well!

I wouldn’t say no to this, but maybe the super short ones like this are more worth a LinkedIn message?

I’d add a quick value add to show you do research. Eg.

“Finboi, notice you post in WR a lot

I just on-boarded Coastal and he’s seeing X wins

Worth a conversation?”

Something like that

Wow I’m shocked at the overwhelming positive responses here. Maybe I shouldn’t be given my curiosity and intuition.

Well, I mean the best way to find out is to give it a shot and test it, to see if you're right.

I like using geographic prospecting. Using names of companies in the same geographic region as my target prospect. And sending those target prospects the names of those companies with a short blurb telling them that we are working with the other companies and I’d like to share with the target company what we’re doing to be successful with them.

It works for me.

I've only done really short follow ups, they've worked okay.

Brevity is king though.

I would write company name instead of we. How do you know the prospects exact challenge?

I only send emails that are 4, maybe 5 sentences max. A lot of times they read the email on their cell, so it helps with readability. I'm not sending a marketing email, so it's very short and very direct

Umm. I wouldn't use this email if I were in this place. I would add some sort of value as well. Why should they listen to me just because I onboarded X and Y? Unless I did something incredible for X and Y, I don't think they would reply.
Personal take tho.

My emails are usually between 75 to 100 words... sometimes around 50. Do you consider this short?

Yes- I’ve usually used 125 words as my hard cap but I’m trying to cut down to less than 75

Personally, it never worked for me, many companies consider it a joke or not very serious. It sounds curious since long emails are not read either, I think it would be something very intermediate and that it became an art to get the perfect email.
