My wife keeps telling me she thinks Saudi Arabia and the UAE are going to be much bigger markets than they already are and that maybe we should look into finding work there and moving. Not sure there's much demand for a sales rep with only intermediate Arabic ability and no real connections though.

The event sounds fun though. Wish I had an occasion to be there.

Your wife has vision. But being the biggest markets is something that will take loke 30 to 50 years to completely replace a market. The US remains the strongest economy and market capital is there just the lack of vision. 1 or two accounts I close from the US hit 50% of my quota.
There are still leaps need to be made for the GCC to replace oldman europe and yet inovvative USA.
We got the money, the vision, but not enough local talent and brains. That remains to prefer to go to the US because it has a better entertainment. Plus cities you feel are built to welcome you for a longtime but never to settle and I guess that is a core issue maybe.
To wrap up. Is it a great place for work? YES! Can you make ton of money? YES! MAX IS 5% MAYBE 10% Income tax in other places are 0. But enterprises there are not huge, unlike the public sector

Yeah but as an American citizen I still have to pay income tax even if I made the money overseas. Any tips on finding companies interested in hiring Americans?

Man I'd love to, Middle East has a bad rap but the money folks are trying to pivot that.

It does, but yea the cashflow is there and they are making bold moves to move HQs there like Ireland did. But i think moving the talent needs either fundamental cultural change and better weather
