Anyone in here familiar sales at Microsoft?

Given that it is the largest software company on the planet. I have been doing my research and it seems like they are going big on AI but I do not know what their plans are for their sales team in 2023.

If you are a more junior Account Executive (less than 2 years experience), what sales roles would you typically want to look into at Microsoft?

I have no experience there but I will say that two of the worst bosses/sales leaders/leaders in general I’ve had both came from Microsoft. One of them is among the most toxic people I’ve ever encountered.

So many things. Willful blindness to any faults of their own, complete inability to take ownership of any mistake or misstep. A lot of micromanaging. Very full of themselves.

Both creepily calm/unnerving as well.

Hard to get into specifics here.

We speak about it a lot. Sales people arent going to get replaced by bots. That said, microsoft could be different for their regular product.

They're mostly solution/sales engineers in that space. Look for things under the Azure umbrella.

i have for the last 13 years worked directly with Microsoft sellers and technical teams across all MS segments. I work for a Microsoft only systems integrator. if you want to get into Microsoft, which i think is an awesome company, I would suggest their SMB / SMC Scale account organizations. they do have inside sellers that take inbound sales opportunities which is a great place to start at MS. trying to get into the other areas is going to be difficult as they tend to hire more tenured sellers.
there are multiple tracks at MS: Account executive, solution specialist, customer success managers, technical account managers, and a host of more technical roles that support the selling org.

I was thinking SMB as well but never see SMB roles listed for AE positions. Do they have something they label their SMB AEs as?
