Anyone on here plan on starting a Sales Consultant business?

This seems to be the craze right now. Seems like everyone on LinkedIn has their own consulting business or teach some type of sales masterclass. I definitely respect the hustle. Curious to know how many others in here are actively consulting or plan to down the line?

I imagine in order to be successful in this business you'd have to have preexisting relationships

It can work. And if all the gurus have taught us anything this past year, it can make you fairly wealthy without skill or credentials.

I would really differentiate from the guru model and go more into a, I've been a salesman for 20 years speech. Tell Managers how to structure the sales team to retain talent. Or niche down in some way like that.

This is a great article explaining how to structure your life for a side hustle. In my experience I find within 10 years, everyone I knew who was hustling, made it to some degree. Some took the full 10 years, some did not. But within 10 years we all could sit around a table and not worry who was taking the bill.

Some are consultants, and others say they are to avoid a gap on their résumé.

I don’t even know anymore 🤪
I did this! Best decision ever. I feel in control of my life and am basically doing the same work as before but having more defined and unchanging goals and metrics(I have a contract that outlines EXACT expectations). I did have pre-existing connections, but I mean, isn’t that sales and networking?

Director Sales and Market Development
Ive dont it a couple times and it was cool, but i cant see myself doing it full time. It is cool to get in and have ownership in a business and be the master of it, but they wont implement shit when you leave and it doesnt matter. Id rather be there, implement, and see it all the way through.

Hell the past 6 companies ive worked for have been PE owneed and grow and go so im basically a consultant today
