It feels like this is good pre-RIF general advice. How can this be adapted to the 2023 job hunt? 100k sales positions arenโ€™t available, but thatโ€™s who youโ€™re competing with.

The best way to gain engagement and produce value in this community is to be specific and contextual. What does it take in the modern market to network with sales leaders who are fighting for budget to renew tools for their current sales team vs hire new ones?

One other thing Iโ€™d add to specific and contextual - personal. Otherwise itโ€™s more copypasta.

This is pretty generic advice. Not bad advice but pretty generic. Here is how i would improve it:

1. One option for your profile is to Use it to highlight how YOU work. In each job section mention your results and your approach.

2. Networking is something that should be a constant. Not just something you do when you need a job.

3. Never do a cover letter. Waste of time. But make sure your resume is built for the role you want. Focus on results, accomplishments, quota attainment and the buyer your sold too.

4. You should be looking at the LEADERS of companies more than the actual company. The product is super important but the leader you will be working with is JUST as important.

5. I agree with this. Do not Waite for recruiters, reach out to companies you want to work with.
