Back with somewhat good news! I'd love your opinion

Hey savages,

BDR for the past 3 years, was doing well and were looking to get promoted.

Yet, every company since I started over hires in UKI market and then has to let go people to never hire for the region again.

Recently like 6 months ago, got into again one of the best companies in the world in cyber security industry.

Full of shit, all the lies, AMs talking crap behind your back.

-Since I started, it took for them to give me an account list 4 months.

-They were supposed to hire the AMs who I was suppose to work with yet they did not.

-They changed my region and segment 3 times.

-No onboarding was available.

-Data in the company is so shit that email bounce rate is 15% and call connect rate is 0%.

-They finally assigned me to a region which 2 people left the company that was covering it.

-No inbound leads so don't know what the fuck marketing is doing

-High level people and top performer AMs leaving

They steal my accounts, when you get something you have to give it to the US, you have to share the credit with another BDR, account alignment for the AMs changing constantly.

I have 4 AMs (AEs) and they closed nothing in the past 4-5 months since they joined.

And now after working for only 2 months, they put me on PIP.

Whoever I spoke to says that it has nothing to do with me.

I am interviewing again:

This time instead of company name, I want to trust my gut feeling because if I apply 100 jobs, I get 95 interviews so for me it is not the case that I can't find something. I just can't pick the right company.

What do you suggest? Also found an AE role, 40K and 100K OTE

I’ve said this before and I’ll say if again

A job description has 2X the lies as there are in a candidate’s CV.

Look for a bootstrapped company this time. One whose JD does not have terms like “scalable”, “repeatable”, and maybe even “growth”.

Do research on the founders. More humble their beginnings, less probability of this kind of a shit-show.

Good luck, savage!

Hadn’t seen this one “JD has 2X as many lies as candidates CV” -Stoled.

I wanna know about the 95% interview rate. If you’re that good at getting interviews, I’d hire you to get me some!

As has been said- vet better. Investigate the current process with current and previous employees. It’s not difficult to find that level of garbage if you just make a few calls.

@oldcloserI'd love to share what I am doing.

I think BDR space is hungry for experienced BDRs in EMEA so that helps and the companies I have worked for has name like google and shit. I think that also helps but I get interviews with the ones that I really want as well and for that I BDR my way in.

Cold calling, emailing etc

@GastyThis time I will take my time and not jump on it. The company I am interviewing for is 150 people and Series B. Just received 27M funding a while ago.

I totally agree, the amount of bullshit I heard before I signed is crazy.

I don't have any made up stuff in my resume but lmao if it is gonna give me leverage. I might look into adding some

That’s loads to shit that you have been going through. If you love closing and have the goal of becoming an AE, I would pick the AE role. Benefits - it will create a path for you to grow further rather than having false promises of being promoted.

Gut feeling is good but hope you also do some research about the company, role, employees, news etc to validate your guy feeling. All the best!

After all that, if that AE job is appealing, take it. You don't want to be a BDR anymore, do you?

By the way, welcome back. Sorry your last role was such a hot mess.

Tbh, that's exactly what I am thinking.

At least if I make the jump to the AE position, I can start learning, gaining experience and jump to a better company later in the future if I am not happy.

Dude if you're relying on company data and cadenced emails you're screwed to start. This honestly sounds like a bunch of bitching. Take control and ownership - if you show traction the company will support you. Sounds like you flailed and started finger-pointing.

For a person with 95% interview rate, you probably deserve better than 100k OTE

Use all of your negative experiences and ask these questions for the next role.

If this role is so bad, get a new one where there is a clear path to AE in 9-18 months if you hit goal.

Don’t make the same mistakes twice.

Great morning I hope all is well, just was curious on how I could get back to watching the videos and answering the questions. Very new to tech sales, but not new to sales, I’ve been in sales for 5 years. Any recommendations on how I can highlight that to stand out to employers?
