Best Alternatives To Golf For Customer Engagement?

This post was spurned by @marebears2007 post about golf...and my lack of ability in the sport.

What are some creative alternatives to golf that still accomplish the same goal? Namely, interactive/engaging activity that can be both fun and competitive and still allow for conversation and some "biz talk".

Thanks in advance, War Room. Our "new world" needs some fresh ideas on engaging face to face with our customers and I will personally be building a list off of this post.

Is this tied to an activity or...just lawn chairs on a patio? Not saying it's bad.

Actually...sounds quite nice.ย

Lawn chairs & patios! What else is needed??

Another, more serious suggestion is a cooking class where they bring their significant others.

Pickle ball maybe? I played a game this past weekend with my grandparents and despite getting whipped by people 40+ years older than me I had a great time

Another activity I have literally no experience in...but heard a lot about. Added to the list! Thank you!

I know it's golf-ish, but top golf is fun even for people that are terrible at golf (myself included)
Otherwise it depends on whats available in your area. Drinks are always an easy idea maybe at a brewery. Some people set up wine tasting events too...as I type this booze is obviously the common theme lol.

Agree! I have actually done this one...and made a total ass of myself. Which I don't really care about at the end of the day.ย

And what's the point of any golfing activity if it doesn't have booze?ย

Top golf man, lets the ringers ring and lets the amateurs get lucky and land somewhere all while drinking and eating. Best of both worldsย

Has anyone ever done shotgun sporting clays or something like that? Obviously got to know your audience, but it fits the bill.ย

Harder to set up and fairly regional, I've found, but people who are interested end up loving it especially if it's a novel experience for them.

Definitely. I think it attracts both: the adventurous first-timers and those who love shooting already.ย

Events. Sporting/Music/Concerts anything where you can get time away from the desk is a win.ย

Iโ€™ve found those effective, when a private box is used. Easier to mingle. Thanks!

Karaoke! This is something we did for our clients back before the pandemic. Now that I remember, it was a good time all around.

Oh I bet. That's a great idea...very disarming. Just make sure they don't get too wrecked! Things could quickly go south. All of a sudden you're screaming a Dixie Chicks song at the top of your lungs on a table and getting thrown out.ย
