Best way to write a cold call script

I have been working in cold call environments for several years and I am finally out of ideas. I can't get a good cold call script written to save my life at this point.

Has anyone else had this kind of writer's block before and what did you do to get out of it?

Should I not have at least some structure to my calls?

Well of course! But a script makes you rigidโ€”build talking points in the form of bullets and allow yourself to figure out the right voice and cadence based on the prospect.

I agree with this. The structure should be your pitch but ideally you should let the call flow

There is not perfect script, but IMO if you don't provide immediate value to the prospect, like within the first 5 seconds, you're wasting your time. I like to drop names (people, companies) they would recognize into the conversation to kick it off. It works for me.

Also have you tried the search bar looking for previous posts? They could help

Nope.Less is more. Highs and lows of prospecting. You'll shake it. Lots of good examples to cherry pick from in here.

In my humble opinion (after having done this for over 20 years), be as authentic and as human as you can be-- while also making your conversation "peer to peer". You're a professional and so are they. I've used something along the lines of: "Hi Ted, this is Samantha Jones with ABC Company. I'm not sure if this a good time to connect with you-- and I would imagine you weren't expecting a call from me. You and I are connected on LinkedIn. Since I specifically work with companies in your industry, I thought it might make sense for us to become acquainted". Your goal is simply to get some time on their calendar-- not try to sell them. Ask them: "Would it be alright if we put 10-15 minutes on our calendars to talk further?"

Scripts may be ok sometimes but don't let you sound genuine most of the times!

role play it with someone and then critique it well you do, also ideal if you have a recording software that will transcript it for you and then you can copy paste to a word doc and edit

Combined with some gold lines in this thread. I'd say that it's very important to tell your "ask" and your "why" very early on. Without hesitation, some charm and preferably a question afterward.

Depending on the call, there's no need for it to be long. Clarity, purpose, and tone are a few things I hold highly
