Deliverability

Revenue leaders, how are you responding to deliverability challenges for cold outbound?

I feel like the direction I want to go in is low volume, high personalization for email, with a greater emphasis on cold calling.

Also curious if anyone's using direct mail. Even Amazon has started sending physical catalogs, and Mailchimp can hunt physical addresses based on personal emails. I feel like physical mail is an excellent way to break through the noise if you can get the verified adresses.

I know you didn't ask for this, but it's the war room. Would it be correct to say that your email is on the Fritz? Come back using the anon profile and this won't happen again.
Otherwise, yes, people are paying more attention to their actual mailbox than their email box. I know I am. But ROI is a real thing. It ain't cheap. Not sure I could endorse the tactic whole-heartedly without the perfect list. ICP, intent, ability, authority... all of it.

amazing how things come back around full circle. Once was once lauded, then hated, is now coming back in style.

If you're a heating and AC company or you sell Window Treatments - go with snail mail. If you're selling SaaS - go with cold calling, a bit of emailing, and invest in conferences/trade shows.

I’d say it depends who you’re selling to, as well.

If you’re selling to owner / operators or teams of 10 or less, I think direct mail is still a great option.

- Maybe you’re selling PM software to tiny accounting firms; a brochure or packet will be a great way to stand out, since SMBs tend to be more frustrated by cold calls / cold email

- Maybe you’re selling marketing services to plumbers; direct mail is a method they’re likely to USE, so it makes sense to approach them via that same channel

Cost is the main prohibitive thing, but if you’ve got budget, I really think there’s utility in direct outreach.

Plus, if you can close multiple deals in the same zipcode, that gives you a massive advantage, since you can call out local businesses that are already thriving with your product / service (businesses your prospect may have heard of)

Physical mail works at high volumes, but depends on the math behind (cost to product + mailing costs) < number of contacts * response rate * net income per signed contract
