Do non OTE jobs exist ?

i have no knowledge on this subject but i see some Instagram gurus

saying there's a possible way to make 15% commissions selling high ticket products for a business , there's no salary , you earn what you bring to the table

basically selling an expensive product

they say its remote and flexible

i mean if jobs like these exist which provide visa, insurance etc.id prefer it

no pressure of meeting quota and dealing with a strict boss.

is this too good to be true ?

( also they charge 10k$ to teach you remote closing and find jobs for you )

scam ?

Unfortunately the words “high ticket closer” just have a bad connotation.

It’s normally IG snake oil salesman selling $20k courses to unsuspecting and naive buyers.

I'm pretty sure "high ticket closing" is just selling courses and seminars (like the one being pitched to you) to other people. Can you make money doing it? Maybe. But a) it's probably not common to do so and b) you're selling bs to people and not everyone is comfortable doing that (I know I wouldn't be).

Wait, are you saying they'll charge YOU $10K before you sell??

Even if that's not the case, it's definitely still scammy.

As everyone is saying, any of this 'high ticket closer' stuff is BS. And there's no such thing as an Instagram guru, just people who shamelessly plug their own shit.

the gurus charge to " teach sales " and help the payee get a job as the scheme says

Oh HELL no.

NEVER pay to work. Training, equipment, NONE OF IT. Those are hallmarks of a scam.

Next thing you know they'll send you a cheque that's too big and ask you to send back a portion of what you don't need.

These jobs exist, but tend to be not worth it unless you have a full business set up. You are effectively a broker, and should treat it like that.

I mean there are %100 commission roles with no cap if that is what you’re asking. These exist in my industry. The more you sell the more you make, period.

What jobs are those ? That sounds like a business , but how without capital ?

Sales jobs usually at smaller private companies. You get a percentage of the margin or total sale (depends on company , product, etc) on every job you sell. You are put on what’s called a ‘draw’ (minimum payment) typically so you are paid regularly but it sort of like a loan against your sale, and you get to decide what that amount is.

Example:
Let’s say your draw is $10 a month
You sell $8 worth, you still get $10 that month but you owe $2.
The next month you sell $14 dollars
You only get $12 since you owe two from last month

This is not for everyone, but I know people who make BIG bucks in 100% commission roles

These are the "sales bro" culture companies that want a lifestyle, 60 hour week commitment. They also don't pay a salary, but swear you'll make so much money that you won't need it. "Our top seller made 185k last month" type claims. They exist, but success at any level in this type of org requires a complete sacrifice of any life you used to have.

As an extreme example I have a board member who has a legacy account and manages it/takes 12.5% of the sale. It grosses about 60k/year in commissions.

I just heard of a sales role with high base pay and profit sharing. No commissions. Seems pretty fair to me.

More fair than my current team that told me “in sales your commission is your raise/bonus” while they paid out $8000 bonuses to the front desk people.

profit sharing as in the company shares some of the profit they make ? sounds good
