Do you Attend ERG/BRG Networking Events

Curious, if anyone attends or is active in their companies ERG (Enterprise Resource Group) or BRG (Business Resource Group)?

I feel like sometimes I should to be joining groups like these since I at times feel like I am on an island being fully remote. I still prefer to be WFH, but I get the feeling like I should be doing more outside of solely sales activities.

Majority of these groups are targeted towards individuals within minority groups. As a white straight male, feel like if I were to join these groups I might get looked as if its not meant for me.

Curious if anyone is active in similar groups and thoughts on Allies joining?

Groups within a company that are usually discussing ways to progress your career at a company and learning of ways they help employees and also to help find a mentor.

From what I see, they are groups specific for veterans or someone with a diverse background

It seems like something really interesting but not necessarily meant for me.

I haven't ever joined these groups solely for the same reason that you outlined near the end, I just don't fit the demographic of what the groups are for

If those groups are convenient to attend, I would highly recommend it. Its good to network and socialize professionally especially when you're WFH and feel like an island.
