Do you sell to CTOs, PMs or developers? How?!

We're working to open new markets in the US with a good ol' middleware platform. It's as sexy and exciting as middleware can possibly get, but it's middleware.

How are y'all getting these people to answer your calls, talk to you, open your emails, reply to them, attend webinars, read content, engage in literally any way, shape or form that could lead to a deal?

I know we could be doing better but alas, I don't know *how*.

Is your product getting recognized in the marketplace?  Or are you having to do all the heavy lifting re introduction, education, etc?

We like to bash on Marketing, but this is where some well-placed marketing can really help you get traction.

We're doing the heavy lifting right now. Slowly but surely racking up awards and lighthouse logos but for the most part it's an introduce, educate, highlight the problem for the prospect grind. What is this well-placed marketing you speak of? Like, what specifics have you seen succeed?

I’m told that analyst coverage helps, but not sure with middleware. From my dev’s and CTO, they usually get rec’s from forums, so try posting in them with your software as a solution for their problems. I went the ambulance chaser route on breaches to get new logos, and it worked well enough.

What forums are they looking at for your solution?

I’ll have to ask, but they spend a ton of time on github. But that’s every dev.

Keeping it very very VERY simple on linkedin is underrated.

Last quarter we ran a swag box campaign.  My messaging was simply a connect request with " Hey xxxx, interested in a xxxx swag box?" & it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

This quarter no swag yet.  But go into sales nav, filter for people in your ICP who have changed jobs in the past 90 days(preferably more than 1 month ago).

I've been using the connect message "Hey xxxx, open to a virtual coffee & a casual chat about what's new with xxx?" and it's been working.

Cancel BI for my fellow Stoolies! Bad journalism targeting entrepreneurs personal lives is not a savage move nor does it align with this communities values.
