Dublin (Big Tech) - BDR Salary

Hey everyone,

new here and really excited about this room. Hope to get some great insights.

Can anyone give me a rough idea of how much you will get as a BDR at a Big Tech company in Dublin?

I've heard numbers around 100k OTE... But feel like Dublin doesn't pay as much...

Also anyone living in Dublin and can give me some impressions of living there?

Thank you!

I live in Dublin. It's usually starting at 35K base if you have some experience. For BDR, you'd be extremely extremely lucky and have years of experience to get 45K base + salaries because that's crossing into AE salaries. OTE can be really really attractive and as BDR you might make more than AE lol. It's not easy to find a place to live in Dublin. Most people rent and flatshare. I'd recommend Cork because it's more accessible. Same story though. Office life is pretty good though and most people go out for drinks or socialise after work so if you mainly sleep in your flat, it can be a great boost for your career and connections and you'll make money. But would be mindful of setting a timeline of what to achieve and by when. Hope that helps.

hi there! thank you for all the insights, really helpful!
I'm just wondering about the BDR salary base. One small thing I'm shocked by is that you would also get 35K as a base salary at a FAANG company? That's so low... how can you survive off of that :D

FAANG pays more. I doubt it's at 50k base though... Or then you need languages, like German, Dutch or Nordics. Because plenty of English speakers and plenty of other nations competing for same ones. Sales makes more anyway. I know people in customer support with 30k salary. But they've lived here for years and years and have secured cheaper rent and they're under a specific tax bracket.

ok this makes sense. I'm actually one of the nordics. For language expertise you'll get paid more then? do you think 65K base salary is possible to negotiate or where would you draw the line even with additional language skills?

So, you have 4 years in sales? Based on your profile anyway. You could go even for AE position. Easy. Personally for me 65K would be pushing it and you'll be under everyone's eye. Yes for Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish you can ask more... obviously if you have something to back it up with. I guess take the job and all the big tech is here pretty much so it's easy to jump and ask for more of you're not completely satisfied. Microsoft - wouldn't bother, Amazon yes, Facebook yes. Living here is much below the standards you might have gotten used to though. Not for everyone.

Oh lord the DM option is only for those who believe in mechanical apple and I am a heretic. The amount of all the unread DMs frighten me. I'll think of something!

Alright let me make it easier for you then. So just to clarify i have 4 years full time working experience. Started in different industries (client facing though) but no direct sales experience. Although some transferable skills for sure. Hence the entry BDR role. So you're saying that if i do get the offer of 65k base, then i have to consider even more pressure right at the beginning? Even 65k would be a pay cut for me tbh but i'm considering it due to the FAANG name and career transition.

Oh another small question: why wouldn't you bother with microsoft?

65k base as BDR would be a pay cut? ๐Ÿ˜… I'd just stick with whatever you're doing now.Microsoft is toxic as hell. You might get lucky and be happy or it might be utter hell.

thanks for the answer, but glassdoor is notorious for wrong salary data. Repvue may be more accurate but would love to hear from people who have first or second-hand knowledge.

Have you checked Glassdoor for this? If itโ€™s a big company, odds are there is something there.
