Enterprise AE’s - what is your expense policy/daily per diem on meals for travel?

Feel stupid asking this but trying to get a data set for an employer. Would also be interesting to know how strictly yours is enforced.

No per diem, just expense reasonably. Current company doesn't allow booze for personal meals, but does for clients. A previous one would allow a single drink per meal for solo meals, but again no issues when clients were involved.

I've always just used my judgment - get a bill with that single drink and the food, rest on one I pay. I went out for a fancy sushi dinner in Victoria BC years ago, and had them split the meal into two cheques as I didn't feel right expensing the whole thing at that price..

I think it’s around $50-60 but it’s never enforced.

That said, I always stay at a hotel which offer breakfast. Lunch is often on the cheap, unless it’s at an airport. Dinner is either on the cheap or very expensive - just depends. But if it gets too high, I just “invite a client”.

At our company I've not seen it enforced. There's always ways to get around it by buying meals for customers or for other employees traveling with you - neither of those should count against your per diem.

It used to be $60, but I always had lunches and dinners planned that I would expense. Even breakfasts sometime. Generally, it went to those random coffees when I had to leave the conference for some fresh air.

We don't have set guidelines. When I'm on the road, the protocol is "Treat the company card like your own cash." I usually get lunch and dinner on the card, with one drink at dinner.

very lax expense policy of basically anything even if you just write a receipt on a napkin and snap a picture they trust us very much

I think it's like $15 breakfast $30 lunch and $60 dinner if you are alone. I never turn in detailed receipts bc let's face it my dinner very much could exist of a banana and $60 of bourbon.

We have a policy based on the country you are travelling in Usually around 65-70 USD per day, no reciepts for food and drink as they just give you 65-70 per day back * the number of days you were out there

But tbh, not enforced too much

Just add a “client in” then no one gives a fuck

100 per day for all meals no rules on booze, client/entertainment over 500 needs a pre-auth submission but of course if you take clients out last minute, it'll generally get approved.
