What's going on savages?
I've been really enjoying this community as a great alternative to the sales SubReddit. Big shoutout to @oldcloser and all the other OG's in these threads. Your insight is invaluable and I feel blessed to have a platform to interact with legends such as everyone on here.
Things are heating up and I plan on being more active moving forward to establish myself and continue to build my network and just genuine connections, because that's what matters.
My situation:
Former B2C seller at a boat dealership, pounding the pavement. Went into the trades and nearly started my apprenticeship but knew sales was for me. Leveraged my experience and soft skills to get a BDR role with a small company. Stacked the chips and bet on myself. Took a pay cut and packed my car and moved across the country (not remote). Fast forward a few months and I was moved into a full cycle role. I have been doing really well and have built an impressive pipeline and have closed new logo's while also farming existing accounts for expansions.
I am currently awaiting my final interview for an AE role with a direct competitor that would be a life changing move. From a career and earning standpoint. So far I have done an initial recruiter screening, first standard interview with my would be direct manager getting to know me and my background. Second interview looping in another regional sales manager (F500 company) that included a presentation on two of their products of my choosing. Crushed it. Now awaiting third with another regional manager in adjacent territory and hiring manager. This will be discussing my 30/60/90 and another 10 minute presentation on a specific analytic feature on their product. This is for the physical security industry. Think access control and video surveillance technology.
I've been in B2B less than a year and this seems like a crazy whirlwind so far, being so close to a huge opportunity in a closing role. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a fair bit of imposter syndrome at hand. But I know who I am and what I bring to the table.
I've combed through all the existing threads on interview advice but any other relevant last minute tips, words of encouragement, and advice is all welcomed and appreciated! You guys are incredible and I'm wishing everyone a great end to Q4 and some fat checks.
Cheers
