Finding my first tech sales job

I have a couple years sales experience at Best Buy but since then have been working as a deckhand. I've recently wanted to break into the tech sales space so I took a SDR course through Coursera. As I just finished the course I'm now updating my resume and looking for a job. I've noticed the industry is going through some lay offs so I'm looking for any extra advice anyone might have?

There’s a post here by Corporate Bro that leads to a website of companies that are hiring. Might want to check there for entry roles.

There is always need for entry level people. I wouldn't worry about the industry as a whole.

You're at the right place @jupiter. Welcome to the War Room! Your apprehensions are obviously understandable, given what's happening in tech at the moment.

There are companies still hiring though. Many of them, infact. Have a look at them- can be a good starting point for you. Sharing a couple of resources below:

Though there are a lot of lay offs happening, remember there are many companies hiring as well. Make a strong resume, get used to all the terms used in the tech industry, network, apply and I am sure you will nail something soon.
All the best !

i would strart trying to identify what types of buyers you want to sell to and why.
having a specific reason why you want to work at a company like that will hopefully make you more appealing.
