Getting a pilot in this week, advice?

Alright team whats your thoughts

We have a pilot ready to launch, everything is specified, pricing and technicals done calls ready.

Biggest problem is I didnt' get direct contact with the DM we are communicating through our champion.

Last week had a quick call he mentioned he'll chat with the DM and see if we can launch it.

If we don't launch now it'll be pushed till feb/march

I'm thinking email today, outline the discussion then state ill call him on Thursday to see if we have the greenlight.

Thursday is too late. You also need to break the slipstream and go for the DM directly. Get a meeting set where the champion brings the DM, and gently shift the focus of timeline and priorities towards the DM. No time to waste dealing with a powerless middle man.

If you are this far in the process and have no direct contact with the DM how do you know if you even have budget?

This is how you get the meeting with the DM: you tell your champion that your boss wants a peer to peer meeting and ask him to help you out.

Regarding the pilot - make sure you have milestones in place and mutual action items agreed upon.

I alway taught my people never waste their time with the middle man, they could waste a lot of your time. If Thursday to late then you need to connect with the decision maker soon. 👍👍

Call the DM and introduce yourself, be polite and say you wanted to put a voice to the name and ask the questions you need answers on.
Never trust a champ who gatekeeps.
