Getting Creative With It

So, someone recently asked me about the craziest way I've ever closed a deal. I couldn't help but grin as I remembered this epic moment. It all started with me buying some seriously delicious coffee from a prospect's website. Little did I know that a simple sip of java would turn into a golden opportunity.

After experiencing the amazing taste of their coffee, I had a ๐Ÿ’ก moment. I decided to use the deliciousness as a way to secure a meeting. I reached out to the prospect and shared how their coffee blew my mind, creating an instant connection. Can you guess what happened next? They not only agreed to a meeting but were also super impressed by my out-of-the-box approach.

I tapped into the power of SalesGPT to get more creative approaches and one salesperson mentioned making a cold call in a noisy bar. It turned out someone was eavesdropping on the convo and ended up becoming a prospect and buying. Talk about closing deals in unexpected places!

Would love to hear other super creative approaches that have worked for sales savages in here to secure the metaphorical bag.

Any time I see an opportunity to help connect or solve a problem a prospect is having, I do it.

Whether itโ€™s hiring for a job, needing a recommendation, etc.

That goes miles and they remember you being a resource.

The cold call from the bar is a new one for me. I used to cold call bars in person (miss that job lol) but never call from them...hmm maybe I had it all wrong. Good story Cheppie.

That second one is good. Maybe not a bar but take a sales call while at a conference during one of the breaks. Don't go find a quiet corner, take the call at a table/sitting area with folks within earshot. If you're at the right show there's a good chance someone's going to want to learn more once you hang up.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
I once had a sales call in a multi-story office building which resulted in a no-show. Bummed, I checked out the building directory and saw a company there - Musician's Friend. Had never heard of them. So I walked up to their floor, opened the door and saw a football field sized call center.

I was selling telecom at the time and this was like finding gold. I asked for the DM and got an appt to come back. I checked with my office and no one had ever even heard of them. So lucky me, I got to keep them.

Long story short - turned into an account which kept on giving to me over a couple years. Helped me make several monthly quotas and even P-club one year.

Lesson learned - always keep your eyes open for new oppts.

That is a fun story!
I have used vouchers and connecting on LinkedIn works well for me, just bit of wittiness in the posts

Do like the story and how you managed to nail it, except for the fact that it more belongs to the win wire section:)

Fair point this was early on in my career so I wasnโ€™t even on Bravado at that point so I didnโ€™t think to retroactively use the win wire

I think this is a perfect way to share this story as it was a while in the past. It also sparks up a conversation that would be separate from the win wire and has more community involvement and engagement this way.

Great job @Chep
