Ok, I'll bite: When merchandising a candidate for a position, obviously you're using the posted profile. How much of that candidates WR banter is being used to interpret the quality or variety of their personality?

"Here's Bob! He's got a doctorate in computer science from Columbia. He's had just 2 jobs in his career, each with 10 year stints. When asked for his input on new cold outbound techniques he said, "Try deez nuts."

Our algorithm says that a candidate who references human anatomy will be a great match for any company looking for OR support in medical devices."

You guys doing this?

LMAO @oldcloser. At the risk of embarrassing myself by answering to a seemingly troll question, but also at the risk of my job by not answering a user's question... I will answer.
A user's Jobs profile is the only thing an employer sees.

You anonymous WR profile along with your shenanigans in the WR do not at all feed into your professional Jobs profile here.

Why are the "match-ups" basically nonexistent? What are the criteria for FLEX?

I feel like they tailor matches towards your industry exp, most of my matches have come from ecom.

Yes, that's a good way to think of it. Specifically, its because you have sold to ecom companies/stakeholders or have sold ecom products, that is why you got matched with ecom Flex roles!

The 'match-ups' have three parts - # of jobs posted, your Jobs profile, hiring manager's requirements.
(1) # of jobs
The sales industry is currently picking back up, so more and more postings will be available. Few open roles = few match-ups.

(2) Your jobs profile
This is the only profile used to match you with Jobs on Bravado, which is why it is so data-focused wrt your sales experience. Think of this as your 'job application', where you tweak what to showcase for specific job postings (highlighting you've sold HR solutions if you're applying to a HR job)

My recommendation is if you see a job on Bravado you believe you would be an amazing fit for, go through onboarding again, change your answers to ensure the right experience is captured. Your updated profile will enter the pool of candidates, and will have a higher chance of being matched to that specific posting.

(3) HM's requirements
HMs sometimes include specific things they are looking for in sales people (stakeholders you typically sell to, your typical quota size, typical deal size, etc.). If your profile does not hit these requirements, you will not be matched - which is why keeping your profile up to date is crucial.

**To specify, there is NO SPECIFIC criteria for Flex, it is treated in the same fashion as regular Jobs.**

How has flex improved since last year?
bravadojanitor

OMG tons. Tons tons tons. In order to improve Flex, we also had to improve the way we are collecting users' resumes/selling experience (that's why we upgraded the B2C onboarding - check it out!). And we also had to improve the way hiring managers are posting roles (we updated their B2B onboarding too, to help create more matches with active candidates).
Also the Flex matching algorithm itself is supercharged right now, powered by SalesGPT/AI and supported by Bravado to ensure any 'good candidates' that were missed by AI is still presented to HMs.

I might have read incorrectly, but I saw something that said “expert”, is it also an expert/consult network or sales only?
bravadojanitor

Oooooh. Expert networks walked so Flex could run, because Flex is built on the idea of expert/consult network.
But for Bravado specifically, it is Sales only. And while there are opportunities for Sales Leaders/C-levels to consult on a short-term basis, the bulk of Flex is fractional sales engagements > selling for a company.

Why am I not getting any matches? How do I increase my matches? Why cant I just apply to the listings instead of being matched to them?

Sharing what I wrote here first:

Q: Why am I not getting any matches?

When was the last time you updated your Bravado Jobs profile?

Q: How do I increase my matches?

Overload your selling experience in the onboarding process, you can keep updating your jobs profile this way. If you have selling experience in 10 industries, make sure that's in your profile, don't stop at 1.

Q: Why cant I just apply to the listings instead of being matched to them?

You are *automatically applied* to the listings by filling up a Bravado Jobs profile. That's the Bravado difference we want to lean on, that you just need ONE job profile for ALL our opportunities.

What's more important for matching flexers with companies: relevant industry exp or performance?

This. So confused by what the criteria is. I can’t get any matches despite pretty decent work experience outside of tech sales.

I've explained extensively above, but to summarize here: both. Because both are collected in your onboarding to create your Jobs profile.

Here's an example... if Ticketmaster wants to hire a Flex team to get more music companies to post through their platform and they use Bravado for Flex, Flex candidates will need:

Relevant Industry Exp - Selling to music companies / working in entertainment / experience with ticketing solutions

Performance - Deal cycle is monthly, Quota attainment is above 80%, deal size is X..

What language in our current full-time job agreement should we look for to see if flex would be a huge no-no? Does Bravado have someone on staff we can chat with about the grey area of having two sales jobs?
bravadojanitor

The way you should perceive Flex is more of a Fiverr/Upwork/Expert Network. It is your side hustle.
We have 100+ Flex reps currently actively engaged in Flex side hustles through Bravado, all of which have full time jobs. Based on my experience, it is through your personal discretion of what is considered a 'conflict of interest'.

Here's an example from one of our Flex reps:
At his full time job, John sells SaaS solutions to Shopify stores that need to be over $3mil USD in revenue a year. At his Flex job, John sells another SaaS solution to Shopify stores that have below $3mil USD in revenue a year. So John does not feel he is "stealing" from his full time job, but rather kicking back non-qualified leads that are considered qualified at his Flex job.

How much “pre selling” happens where candidates are highlighted based on profiles vs applying for positions?
bravadojanitor

Our AI matching solution does two things:
1. Present you with job opportunities that match your Jobs profile + requirements
2. Present hiring managers with candidates in Bravado Jobs that match their requirements

To prevent users from seeing matches/jobs that hiring managers have already rejected, users will only see a match to a job when hiring managers have accepted the users' profile.

Which means if you get a match in your Jobs portal, the employer has already accepted your profile, all you have to do is accept the match.

If I accept a flex role would I be expected to list this on my LinkedIn? Or do these companies think of us as a “ghost” on their team that they just look to see results from?

There are no such expectations for Flex engagements, so closer to the latter.
But with that said, there are no restrictions from the companies as well. You are more than able to share on your profile that you work at that company/Bravado.

I was "matched" with a company, accepted it, and a few days later was "rejected." Is there any way to ascertain why I was rejected, or is it like any other application and it's just a mystery/fill in rejection reason here type of thing? If I was matched initially, there must have been some reason for it. Or am I wrong about that?
