Headset Hell

Hey Fam,

So for those guys like me who have been on the damn headphones practicing my sales role for + 9 years for +10 working hours a day that's about to damage my damn ears and getting me headaches from time to time.

Last time I checked up with the doctor he told me I need to increase the break time from it as much as possible.

I'm willing to leave it for another role that doesn't require using it as much, for a more coaching one as a Sales Senior Line support but two problems here, Firstly that no current vacant relevant roles and Secondly They don't pay as much as being OTP (Over the phone) that would massively impact my monthly payout for not sharing the same commission structure.

Any thoughts, as I guess many of you guys would understand what I'm saying especially for those who are currently working with it or even had a chance to work with at a call center once before!

You are experiencing auditory damage from speaking on the phone? I honestly have never heard of that before.

What are you asking us for here? You want to change roles but they aren’t available—and you’re weighing pay against long term health and quality of life.

If the jobs don’t exist, it seems like a moot point, that or you need to network and hustle more to find one. If money is the concern then you need to find a way to stay on the phones and improve your working environment. A better headset maybe?

I already changed 2 within the last 3 months.
But only if they could be a counterfeit Jabra versions after I will check ,I may think of redeeming the original one at the CS next time:)

I only use over ear headphones when on walks. Every other call is on speaker from iphone.

I quit using apple airpods. Noticably had more headaches with those.

I use the Sony WH1000xm - love them. They pick up a ton of background noise so only use when in a quiet space.

for SURE need to upgrade the head set my friend.

Ive been using the Jabra evolve 75 for a few years now and its great. it hurts my ears a bit if i wear it for multiple hours straight though.

I think the Jabra evolve 85 is an over the ear version that could be more comfortable. see if work will pay for it.

I wear ~$30 logitech USB headset for gaming and work 6-8hr a day both work and play - no strain, no sweat, no weird pressure, and no issues. Don't always just pay more, use the reddit reviews and buy from newegg.com. Best of luck comrade.
