Help: Crushed 2022 but burned out - how do I renew myself ASAP?

I absolutely crushed 2022, hit all the accelerators, made a massive bonus and did the victory dance.

Christmas break is not a break for me. Extended family, kids home, be super-dad, exhausted.

Now 2023 is starting and I can feel burnout grabbing me.

I don't want to start the year behind quota, need ideas on how to renew myself FAST (1-3 days).

I've got a really long vacation booked in April so I just got to survive till then.

Ideas?

First off, congrats on crushing it last year. Second, take the weekend off, you deserve it.

That's....not a bad idea... Why am I booking so much into my weekends. That part of my calendar I can reclaim

I spent 16 years with maybe getting 2 weekends off per year. I was constantly on the edge of burnout, but those weekends off helped. 2 days can do wonders for the body and mind if spent right.

Heres a radical idea. Use some of your massive bonus to hire a personal assistant, or ask your work to hire one for you, have them manage your life at work for the next 3 months. Maybe it will take some of the pressure off and set you off for an even better year.

I did that at my last job and ran into all types of complications about privacy of data and other fake noise. Actually just other sales reps starting s***. But based off this suggestion I just reached out to the local college for some interns, good idea!

yeah it tough having a good year and then the quota starts from 0 again. Like you lost all the effort you did last year.
Try to find a good enough approach until april. After that hopefully you are back like you were in 2022

Yes I think 'good enough' is the order of the day.

Quota is always going to be there. You did a good job of taking a time off but it’s 1 quarter away. Have to survive till then. Do you have any hobbies - they help. I like to
meditate every morning and walk every evening.

I completely unplugged last night, that helped. Good call I will schedule more downtime

Congratulations on 2022!

Long weekend coming up, can you go somewhere for a quick getaway? Take another weekend next month too.

Take breaks daily - go for a bike ride, walk, to the gym for an hour - something.

I unplug fully for lunch. It's only 30 minutes, but it's amazing. No more screen time.

Burnout or just not selling? I have always found sales solves burnout, go make that paper

i hear you, always tough to reset. I suggest setting some goals for the new year and your career, take a few deep breaths and get back to grind. If that doesn't work, give marketing a shot

Have you ever considered taking a long break? (3+ months) it's something that most people do in their career to rest and reload

Maybe cliché but what has worked for me is taking time for myself. I use the morning, waking up early, 4:30 am, 30-45 min exercise, 30 minutes reading, go out for a walk to take sunrise light, coffee 120 minutes after waking up. Then work. I go to bed around 9:30 pm. It’s working for me, but find sometime to do what you enjoy, does not have to be big… btw, congrats on that great year!!!

1.) awesome job on the targets

2.) there was a story about a man in texas who had been contemplating suicide but he went to mexico and visited a brothel for 3 days and decided life was worth living. do with that story what you will.

On the work front: take things simply. No seriously - you’re looking at the big picture stuff.
I find on the days where I’m not feeling it if I can just move a deal forward or book a couple of discos then I’ve done my thing.
Before you know it a good day roles around where I’m feeling energised and voila: that previous work pays off.

Whatever you do, just focus on what’s in front of you and don’t think about the quota you need to hit, gaps to quota etc
