Hey I’m pretty sure I got a sales internship at a startup how much should I ask for $$$ as far as OTE

I have 6 months at a previous fintech startup, this one is a b2b fintech, almost anything SaaS startup. This is a part time role too as I'm still in college.

I can't really help you with an internship rate, but what will you be doing exactly? BDR/SDR?

Prospecting just getting leads and sending them straight to the AE. Book a discovery call and talk to them, then if they are good enough they will go to the AE.

thats an SDR/BDR role. this is normally the lowest paid position in sales and if you are an intern, i would expect that you would be paid hourly instead of salary.

I would look at Repvue and see what SDRs in your area are making, and expect the comp to be a little lower since you will be an intern.

I second this, and I'd also be curious what your pay structure is. Given that you're an intern, I would recommend you try to get something where you get cold hard cash as soon as possible, which means hard metrics (quota on number of calls, etc.). While that is not the best strategy for BDR teams overall, you need to ensure that you don't have a long tail of things out there that could give them reason not to pay you if your internship ends for some reason.

I have NO idea where to start with an internship.. Not too long ago they were almost all unpaid (thankfully that's often not the case these days)

Will you actually be brining in revenue?

IMO internships are all about gaining experience and don’t really here much about OTE. What was it at your fintech place?

Probably minimum wage since you’re bringing minimal skills to them.

You might be getting ahead of yourself here if it's an internship. Focus on learning as much as you can and securing a full time position if you like the company.

Difficult, it depends a lot on the company, the place where it is and its product, I think the best thing is to look for a university colleague who has a similar case and ask for the offer

I (26M) have been in sales for 6 years now, how long until I have a nervous breakdown?

I was hired at a really good start up about 4 months ago for a SDR role that I was told I wouldn’t be in for very long. They’re gonna go public in the next year, but Zoom Info reached out to me about an Account exec position. Now I’m wondering if I should take the guaranteed route to AE or let my shares vest and get to AE at the place that took me. Usually I wouldn’t consider jumping so quickly, but AE is AE.

What’s the best companies to reach out to for SDR / BDR roles for a career changer looking for solid base comp and decent OTE (financial advisor made 120k last year 3 years hit quota every year cold calling running the sales process so I think I have relevant AE skills but I get taking a step down since I have no SAAS sales skills. (However I have 1.5 years of IT recruiting experience where I also crushed quota and learned a bit about IT broadly) Thanks
