I suck at CRM but I'm a great upward communicator. My boss always knows what I'm working on because I'm usually asking something from him or copying him on something I asked from someone else.

Apart from the normal, subtle / indirect communication is good:

- a random slack message out of the blue (โ€œXx, got my 100th deal for the fiscal. Just thought Iโ€™d drop a quick note since I feel good about itโ€)

- find their special tribe (right hand / counterpart / etc) and intelligently communicate the message to the tribe. Would reach your management soon.

- weekly/monthly report card over email: list down the key achievements in short and crop bullet pointers and put it on email asking for nothing in return
