How I create a B2B cold email sequence using apollo.io that gets a 61% open rate and 15% CTR:

1/ First, We need the right list to contact because a Good email + bad list = no results.

to find the right list go to Apollo.io http://apollo.io/ database of contacts and input your ICP criteria.

Select all the contacts and add them to a “new list”.

2/ Create the email sequence.

my email sequences include 7 Proven steps (1 initial email, and 6 follow-ups).

6 follow-ups, because it’s proven that 80% of conversions are made on the 5th-12th follow-up.

3/ Write the email copy.

initial email:

SUBJECT LINE: question about {comapny_name}

Hi {first_name},

It’s always nice to connect with fellow {industry} experts from {city}- keep crushing it with {company_name}!

Im {your_name}, a Partner at {your_company name}.

I found {company_name} when I was researching for {industry} companies that have {pain_point}.

We help {industry} companies achieve {dream_outcome} in {time} {risk reversal/guarantee}.

We worked with {X clients}+ in the last {Y years}.

Book a quick call to see if we can help you. {hyperlink to calendly}.

Best,

{Your_Name}

{LinkedIn profile}

Sent from my iPhone

This framework works because:

1. Curious subject line.

2. Rapport-building personal intro.

3. Avoiding pushy salesperson approach.

4. Pitch only if it's a no-brainer offer.

5. Social proof builds authority.

6. Low barrier to entry CTA.

7. Casual vibe with "Sent from my iPhone".

4/ Now for the follow-up email template:

Hi {first_name},

I just had the time to check in about my last email proposing {offer}.

{data-backed example of how this helped one of your clients}

Book a quick call at your convenience to see if we can help you. {calendly link}.

Key points to remember when doing this:

• Change the mail for each follow-up.

• Keep the follow-up emails in the same thread as the initial email

• Follow-up every 2-3 days

• Use numbers

• Have a profile picture

• Aim for a 1:3 “I” and “YOU” ratio

• Don’t sound eager

5/ A/B testing

You need volume, at least 1000 emails to send for your A/B test to see what’s working and what isn’t.

Things to A/B test:

• Your list

• Subject line (80% of the email performance depends on your subject line)

• Personalized intro

• CTA

6/ SPAM

To avoid landing in spam:

• Register DMARC, SPF, and DKIM for your sending domain (check here: dmarcly.com/tools).

• Warm up your email using a tool like warmupinbox.com for 14 days before starting the campaign.

• Limit daily sending to under 500 emails.

7/ That's it!

Now you're ready to start generating leads and revenue through email!

If you want a full cheat sheet of what we went over reply “DM”, and I’ll send you it!

The reason being is that before the meeting I make sure the lead knows it will be a valuable meeting by sending them an agenda that's compelling and shows that is will solve thier problem.

This is good as far as you are getting results. You just email and do nothing else?

The post is about one of the sequences I use, my second is a multi-touch sequence which involves also cold calling and LinkedIn activities.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
I have seen a few of these float through and I quickly delete anything which has "crushing it" in the intro.

Shocked you're getting the results you're getting, but good for you if its working out.

Close rate isn’t a range. Your saying that that you have a 25% close rate on every lead you connect on a demo with? That sounds low for a funnel with a >80% demo delivery rate.

For all you mail mergers out there, do you see more success emailing one DM or all DMs on a custom thread? I've noticed that putting all relevant DMs on one campaign that is 100% customized to their business has a much higher response rate (28% meeting sucess)
