Month after invoice is paid. Iโm used to it, no need for it to change.

I'm in a similar situation and people usually do, and if they don't accounting gives me a nudge b/c they know I get paid off it and will help push the customer in the paying direction.

My customers are very large enterprises. They typically do. Most hiccups are with vendor onboarding and POs that take longer than expected to be generated, but I try to nip those in the bud by making sure I've tied off on all vendor docs up front.
The issues are when anything longer than net-30 has been negotiated. Then we're waiting a bit longer.

My first job out of college was like this and it was absolute garbage with the amount of accounts we had to send to collections...

I get paid the month after the customer pays. I donโt like it but at one level it is fair. I would prefer to get more upfront though.

The tradeoff for me is that clawbacks are not an issue.

Pretty common and reasonable. But also kind of annoying.

Also, is how you get paid today they way you prefer it? Or would you like it to be something different?

None of the above for me. We bill monthly and get a percentage of each invoice.
