How's it going my fellow Sales folks! Hope your cold calls have gone successful today!
If you've seen my previous posts, I've (SDR) been having issues over my quota numbers, probation extension, and management not hearing me out.
I gave my two weeks' notice and neither my Head of Sales nor Sales Manager spoke to me about staying back. They were rather happy I'm leaving and hosted a farewell party for me - Mind you it's only been 6 months since I've joined this company.
My CEO gets a hold of this and calls me into the office to speak to me about it and I told him exactly what was wrong and he told me that if he counters will I consider it? I said yes just to see what can they provide.
Today, he calls me in for a meeting and tells me that he has spoken to my manager and the head of marketing (who..I've never worked with before...but her opinions weigh in?) He tells me that they said I'm not easy to work with and I'm requesting too much of things:
I requested Marketing for:
- One-Pagers to send clients relevant information
- Relevant LinkedIn posts to send to my customers
That's it, nothing more. Apparently, it's too much for them. Anyways, my CEO tells me to keep in contact in a year's time, and let's see if we can collaborate again.
Some personal achievements in my short tech sales time:
- Secured an SQL that became a client within the first week of prospecting - 5 figures
- Secured meetings with multiple large companies in SouthEast Asia, another ended up paying 6 figures
- Secured a meeting with the CTO of a large logistics company the week I was leaving
That's it folks, thank you for reading till here. I'm happy I had you guys told me to leave.
I've accepted another job, looking forward to working there:)
P.S. F**K Marketing.
