Im too paranoid with being that annoying sales rep.

I have been doing more brand advocacy & Ambassadorships the past few years instead of Any type of outbound sales that could possibly have a great commission opportunity.

I don't like most sales people. The ones pushing products to their friends or the salesmen that push or manipulate others into buying something they just flat out Don't need or truly want. I want to find a way to be able to do sales in a way that doesn't seem shady.

How can I get over this? Am I being judgmental? I know sales is sales & why agents are pushy but it's just turned me off of that role.

Not every sales person is manipulative. Not every cop is bad. Not every CEO is shitty.

What if you, like you said, just sold without being shady?

“Hey customer, not sure if you’re having any problems with XYZ. Our company does ABC to help people with said xyz problem.

Would it be unreasonable to chat for 5 minutes about this? Or, totally cool if right now is a bad time and we can shoot for next month”

Sounds like you are in the WRONG industry Homie!

If you are being forced to sell to ppl who do NOT want to buy, that it a hard way to make a living.

Your product is not good, your marketing sucks, or you are not finding the right prospects.

If it’s the last one, you can work on that. The other two you can’t…

Don’t be a “sales person” then. Be a “problem solver”, I enjoy what I do for that reason. My customers need help, and I am there to help them. The “sales person” persona is kind of cliche to be honest. Some are like that but not all.

this is something I felt as well. Think of it as you want to help them by selling them a product. Also it's your jobs and they know it.

Try thinking of sales a little different. It is not you VERSUS the customer. It is you AND the customer VERSUS the customer's problem. You do not get paid unless you solve a problem for your customer. When you look at it this way, you are not going to create problems out of thin air or bully people into buying. But you will ne motivated to call people in order to help them.

If you are still having an issue with this, it may just be you do not believe your product solves a problem.

Huge generalization that people have about B2C sales.
It doesn't have to be that way. B2B sales is about selling solutions or products companies need to get their own jobs done - and is generally problem solving. If you enjoy problem solving and working with people to help them, you might want to take a look at B2B sales.

Not all sales persons are the same, If something wrong like that you can see, then it's two things, It's either the company that follows that policy or it's the sales rep.

So make sure to select the right company for you by selecting the most reputable ones after a taking the good time for you to search,Good Luck!

There's more than 1 way to sell...you just gotta find which way works best for you so you can sleep at night.

This will change drastically if you sell a good product. If a product is good you don't have to "push." You know prospects need it, you just help them realize that need it bad enough to pay for it
