In the interview process with Pearson

anyone ever work for Pearson before?
I have worked for one of the bigger payroll firms before and have a gut feeling they will be similar just about education not payroll...

I have heard some good things and glass door has some iffy stuff but I'm sure it depends on a ton.

any personal insight is appreciated.

Not familiar with their business outside of textbooks, but I've worked in EdTech SaaS and did quite well, plus enjoyed it.

Sales cycles with educational institutes can be LONG though, and RFPs are a bitch. They're not always necessary but come along with many of the larger deals.

Also, conferences in education are surprisingly fun.

It’s Pearson Specter Litt now. No direct experience about it but all the best.

Glassdoor is a bit of a mixed bag. Some are for it and some are not.
I worked for a larger payroll company and it is rated about the same. I imagine it likely has to do with your surroundings...

So far I like the people I have spoken with. They presented as if they support the people well, if you want to grow into leadership, great. If you want to keep serving your territory, great etc.

Is it Ed? I assume your sales success means more rather than it being payroll unless you sold to payroll to the ed industry

Sorry if that bit was confusing.

Yes, Pearson sells education products.

I was just thinking company structure-wise when I said they were similar.
The payroll company had many products and salespeople for each.
Potential for crossfire where I would call and then tomorrow my HR person would call and potentially muddy the waters with my call etc.

Pearson has lots of product lines by the sound of it in the interview I thought it might have some similarities in how things worked but not in the product or audience per say
