Interview tomorrow

Interviewing for a fully remote Inbound BDR role tomorrow

Managed to get in contact with 5 people at the org with LI + Apollo. Been using phone calls, DMs, emails, and texts to make myself impossible to ignore

Doing deep research right now on the hiring manager, sales leadership, and CRO

I'm actually lucky because many prominent sales folks in their org are super active on LI

Help me prepare for this 30-minute video interview, savages:

- What questions do I NEED to prepare for?
- What are some social engineering tips I should keep in mind (dress, speech, nonverbal behaviors)
- How should I follow up afterwards?

This is my first white-collar job interview in over 2 years, and only my fifth one EVER, so I'm going in pretty raw

From what you stated, you are doing the right things right now in order to appear as interested as possible in this position.

That said, I would wear a button-down collared shirt, either white or light blue. You don’t want to be remembered for the clothing that you are wearing.

Google a list of interview questions for a sales position, or BDR position. There are dozens of lists out there. Choose the best questions and have them ready to go.

Have an excellent “tell me about yourself “paragraph ready to go. Try to connect any professional experience you have in your background in this paragraph.

Finally, I would talk about the lengths you have gone to in order to get to this point. More than likely they will appreciate the hustle. But don’t make it a sob story.

Good luck!

Congrats and good luck

Dress: Keep it smart casual.

Be prepared to answer questions as to why you’re looking, quota attainment, your day to day, how you time block, how you identify key accounts, sequencing

Ask relevant intelligent questions on quota attainment, expectations on KPIs, SPIFFs, earning potential and OTE, ICP, marketing support and training to help you advance your career

Lastly - fucking kill it 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Just adding on to the great advice you’re receiving: @Pachacuti ‘s “tell me about yourself” is key. As salespeople, we tend to be good at telling a story about a thing, but not as good at telling one about ourselves. Get that paragraph written and rehearse it. Then, weave it into a walk through your job history. Good luck!

I was very ready for this and I think my response really set the stage for the rest of the interview to go in my favor.

Good tip. First impression is so key.

This is in person?

Wear a suit and tie, won’t go wrong with it.

Come in with a 30-60-90 plan or a SWOT analysis, managers eat that shit up.

Ask questions that prove you have done some research and talked to people ahead of time, it shows you’re prepared and have taken initiative.

At the end ask for the job (professionally of course ) just like a sales call.

How'd it go

Went well. Told me they’d reach out early next week to book round 2. Considering me for two roles: inbound SDR and outbound BDR.

Interviewer even laid out a possible start date and added me on LI afterwards

Feeling good. Planning to keep researching / preparing.

Still staying open for other interviews just in case, but this role would be a pretty great fit for me, so I’m planning to give the whole interview process everything I possibly can.
