Interviewing a ton and need tips

Recently active here, I have had 16 interviews with 16 companies in the last 4 days and need a way to figure out how to remember the recruiters names, VPs, key people, as well as specifically what their products do compared to their competitors which I am also interviewing with and my hand written notes work so far but I have zoom interviews coming up and need to know if its tacky to have my notebook or if there is a better way?

I mean there is probably a better way, but almost always at the beginning of an interview on zoom I'll say something like, "And John before we get started, would you find it distracting if I had my notebook with me so I could jot down a few notes on anything important that comes up so I don't forget?"
They always say it is fine and often then tell me about how they're a note-taker also. Then you pretty much have free rein to glance down at it at all times.

^^ this was going to be my suggestion. Notebooks are great. The act of writing something down helps imprint it into your brain, which will help with remembering it. Old school, but works!

You know I live by my color coded notebooks and writing things down creed. Legit helps me retain info better.

That is what I have been doing, I just know I will start flipping pages in front of them. Some of these recruiters have the same name at this point where I think its the same person different jobs

That is a crazy amount of interviews. I respect your grind. Take all the notes you need to.

16 in 4 days?! The fact that you can even juggle that is impressive.. I am also someone who takes hand written notes so I don't think it's tacky at all. To me, it would show that you're taking the time to take notes & you're actually interested in what the company is doing

Yea, and I am starting second rounds but have first rounds for other companies scheduled to Oct 3rd. Layoffs are fun but my work experience gets a ton of views when I am a free agent

Are you interviewing remote or in person?

If remote have a word doc open with names, company value, and connect with everyone via LinkedIn so you get a name and face connected with each other

Damn, 16 is a LOT of interviews...

That's all I've got.

As others have said, embrace the notebook.

Remember: interviewing is a two way street. Treat it just like a sales call and control the conversation with solid questions. Do not be ashamed of taking notes - you would do it on a sales call! It is important and you should treat it with no less respect.

It's not tacky to have your notebook with you I think, it's also for taking notes so others won't see it weird. Best to have some kind of repetitive flow in your notes for each company like maybe you always put an org plan first, followed up the product you're selling, its strengths and weaknesses, followed by competitors etc so you're turning pages all the time to look for what you need. Best of luck ๐Ÿ™

Create a spreadsheet on google to track it all. So you will have it at your fingertips all the time. But I write down everything in my notebooke and then transpose it to google sheets. The double writing/typing helps me retain info.
