Is it just me or are most people not at 100%

Just a thought, but it seems to me that a lot of the people I am talking to are not at 100% right now. I know for me the holidays are draining. They are a ton of ton of work between cooking, cleaning, force socializing, loud children, etc. I am walking into 2023 exhausted rather than invigorated.

Not sure if anyone else is in the same boat.

Definitely feeling this, though I am on the other side. I am energized and rested and the whole rest of the world seems incredibly tired and disengaged. Pretty disheartening.

I am glad you are on the other side. I know a lot of people who are feeling sick after the big get-togethers.

100% I'm forcing my ass to make cold calls and I'm hating every moment of it and cuz I'm just tired and burned out from constantly feeling like my job is at jeopardy.

Idk, part of me thinks it's a normal/seasonal thing, another part is telling me to just spend my time more wisely by applying for more jobs/network.

I get that. I work from home and being able to sit in a dark and quiet room makes a world of difference

After taking time off, I feel like I need to relearn the little things. Forgetting passwords, how to access certain reports, or where I left off on all my deals.

I feel like that's why SKOs or some type of kick off happens. It gets you in the mindset of work after a long break

Do you feel envigorated from SKOs? I have not attended many and they have been hit or miss.

Truly depends, if you like the company, like being social, and like your co-workers then I think its a great way to start the year. However, there has been times where I am annoyed with the company for having a bad territory and saw it as a kool-aid drinking contest.

I get drained by a ton of socialization and small talk. Plus I find that 6-8 hours of SKO too much. Most people would be better off with a weekly half hour of training than a yearly/quarterly extravaganza.

I'm still kind of sick from the holiday blitz of parties (and have one more Christmas party this coming weekend). I'm pretty much running on fumes for the time being.

Trying to get my arms back around all of the deal cycles that went quiet over the holidays and make sure we're still on track...and many of my customers are sluggish.

We also have our SKO in a couple of weeks, so have to prepare for that.

I AM HAPPY THAT YOU MENTIONED THIS !!!! I started 2023 exhausted and overwhelmed af than any other year!

Though again, I ended 2022 fine, and I even told myself that I am happy about the growth. But then, I entered 2023 absolutely dead.

I need a break already.

Got kids?

Youโ€™re legitimately sick a majority of the time if theyโ€™re under 5.

I have a 2 year old with special needs. It is a lot. She is still non-verbal and that takes a lot of emotional battery to support her.

Youโ€™re stronger than I.

I thought I was replying to a specific comment instead of the OP.

That said, I could probably do a better job keeping the energy up for those around me.

I'm leaning into a slow January, no use trying to push things when clients aren't in the mood.

Coming from someone who has boundary problems with work, trying to take advantage of a slow time of the year and rest for once.
