Is "Marketing Collateral" part of the evil machine?

So marketing definitely should be crapped on as much as possible. But, and I might get bitchslapped for saying it: my company has a marketing team that is decently competent an okay amount of the time.

What I want to open up to the floor is: would the collateral they produce, were it to not be garbage which sometimes it is, is that something that you'd consider using in a value prop or even a sales cycle for fear of becoming part of the evil machine they embody?

I find that in the endless sea of garbage that most marketing departments I have worked with put out there are usually some nuggets to be pulled from it. The level of competency of your marketing team is going to determine how much panning you will have to do to find it and how large the nugget is when you do.

I repurpose a lot of the old shit marketing has produced.

It's all about digging the gold from pile of shit. We have a lot of collaterals and I don't use all of them but I use what I feel can add value for the prospect.
