really goofy hiring times right now. a few of my buds who are killers and genuinely intelligent sellers can't find a new gig. what's worse:

i consult for companies that should fire half their (mediocre) team but are just wasting the burn etc. really interesting/moronic dichotomy.

bad news / this says we are only half way through to rock bottom.

good news / this says we are atleast half way to rock bottom. once those teams have leaned up and ditched the job hopping morons they brought on in 2021 is when we can get back to normal.

Not just that, there is also a shift to lower pay/comp. The way I see it, it will be at least 10% of cuts and then another 20% in lower comp. That’s the fear.

Probably. It also means that they can hire more experienced people at lower rates, and people will be making less across the board (easier to higher since there is no overbidding).

People using the inflation and job shortage on 2021 to Parlay it into bigger roles they weren’t meant for.

I see lots of people in jobs they only got because of the boom times.
