My new sales pet peeve

ok first, my biggest NON sales pet peeve:
when ppl reference a category, and then list ALL the things in the category.....I'll explain.

"only the elite QBs have that ability, Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, manning, elway, Farve, Allen...."

like DUDE just say one or two don't list the whole list!

ok anyway.

In my company it's come to my attention that many departments will shorten the word "Opportunity".

fine.

do they use "Opp" like every normal person I've met?

NOPE!

they use "Oppty".....

and it drives me fucking bananas when ever i see it. like WHY? just use "opp" it's less letters and isn't stupid.

ok that's for coming to my Ted talk.

please tell me I'm not the only one 😂😂🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

When people reply all, to tell people to stop replying all…..

Dumb.

Was at a very large tech company when an allpocalypse when through. And it was a global company, so it went through waves as each region came online. Good times.

I hate to tell you, but that's a common abbreviation for the word in a business setting.

I've surprisingly never heard it abbreviated like that lol I'll still stick with just opp though.

An abbreviation we recently started using is 'No Ass', which stands for 'no assignment'. We basically just use this for our customer success tiering & label clients as 'no ass' when they don't have a CSM assigned. Who came up with the 'no ass' abbreviation - I have no idea. But, they deserve a raise because I chuckle every time I see it

I've heard this one used. Reminds me of:
so just let me introduce myself
My name is Humpty, pronounced with a Umpty.
Yo ladies, oh how I like to hump thee.

haha I'm with you! Can't stand it. Worked with a SF admin (who was awesome) for years that always used optty.

More important though, you think Allen belongs in that list of QB's??? :)

Stupid shortening of words thanks to the new generations. I hate to be attacking other people, but yeah, that's where it came from. It's not cool. It's not endearing. Just makes you sound dumb and uneducated.

English is your first language? Act like it.
