Non-tech sales roles that pay $200k plus?

Currently in a great roll as an SAE in the transportation industry making $200-$300k per year for the past five years. Always in the top 10% and have learned lots at the fortune 200 company im at currently. Looking to transition into a new industry that isn't tech, and that has similar or higher range of income in a recession proof industry. ideas? companies?

Thanks. What kind of sales within construction? I’m told HVAC is quite technical. I have no engineering or technical background.

Lots of sales roles, some of which are technical but not all. You can sell anything from galvanized piping, insulation, maintenance agreements, commercial/industrial HVAC equipment, refrigeration, installation and service, valves, fire protection and sprinkler systems. etc. if you have more of a tech background building automation, fire control panels, security controls are all in the same realm. LOTS of options.

Came from tech and now work in the material handling industry. Top reps at our company are making 7 figures.

Well, that’s simply a lie. Gross deal volume is up, but roles are being cut now that companies are operating on reasonable budgets. The industry is not dying by any means. VC grow before all else tactics are.

niching up from anything residential into commercial (equipment, materials, insurance, etc) is usually shit work upfront which turns into a lifetime vacation once your book is fat enough

Really appreciate all the engagement.

Several asking about why I’d look at leaving. Mostly due to lack of learning and development in current role and lack of caring from management. Operating at the top of my game and nothing else to chase after. Looking for a new type of challenge without taking too much of a financial hit.

I know a few people in luxury fixtures/building supplies/ appliance who break 200k but they network with real estate developers so that might be a bit down atm

You want to leave a guarantee for some random sort of potential? Wtf is wrong with people doing well and just wanting to abandon it? Like seriously, no struggle no brain. wtf

There is a whole world of tech adjacent options in clinical research services. Much smaller industry and the your people skills will matter much more since everyone knows everyone. But there is lots of upside and the work is really meaningful since ultimately you're helping to advance the science of new cures.
