Normal or sketch?

alright y'all so I was hired at the end of Nov 2021 (basically Dec) for an sdr manager role. came to a team of 6 and 1 person hitting quota only by putting 12 + hours a day in.

Dec technically was "onboarding" and Jan being my first month of implementing processes to the team, territories, sequences refreshes, and worked on training and onboarding for the new potential sdr I was interviewing to hire.

now it's beginning of February and my whole team is eliminated because the board didn't think the 9 month run of the outbound team did enough to prove it works. (9 is lose only because 1 sdr had been there 9 months, rest were 6 or less months)

they don't want to fire me so offer to make me a full cycle AE. (they think having AEs source all outbound will fix lead gen issues)

now here is the kicker - it's March 1 and I have yet to receive any formal written statements about my new role change or even my comp structure.

oh and I'm not even "out of training" and yet was given a quota for the month. even tho I'm not allowed to run discos until I'm out of "training" 🙃🙃🙃

is it outrageous to ask for this to be formally written out and given to me? I thought it would just be done naturally but maybe I'm missing something??

also: anyone hiring sdr managers? 😅🥲

I kinda figured but trying to make sure the recruiter who placed me gets paid and they don’t try asking for $ back because I left before I leave
(he didn’t know it was going to turn into a shit hole and blow up like it did and is looking for new roles for me even ones where he wouldn’t get paid for placing me)

No offense but fuck them. Are they gonna split the money with you? Are they your best friend? Gotta look out for #1

Fair but it’s literally only 20 more day days so basically while I interview other places lol if it was longer than that I’d be like sorry and he would understand

If its only 20 more days then its a non issue because finding a new role + placing your 2 weeks notice will take longer than that. But also fuck the recruiter, they helped put you in this spot to begin with.

well.....hopefully they pay you more, you have more control over your schedule and your income, and you have more responsibility.

So idk if you are basically an SDR again.

But it for sure is not for everyone so there is no shame in not wanting that. Some people look at being a manager and would hate it (and they would probably suck at it haha)

UPDATE FOR YALL:
I’m being pushed out now. My VP let me know today the CEO thinks we’re top heavy on the AE side and basically if I don’t hit a number that still has yet to be solidified by EOM I’ll be gone. So VP is asking they give me a month of severance so I can just cut ties and leave and focus on finding something else

At least you got a little severance. It sounds like it’s a good thing to leave regardless.
