Off Topic Friday

Lets make off topic Friday a thing! I’ve seen mixed reception to these kind of posts, some like me, enjoy them and engage with them to take our minds of work related topics for a second or two, others however see them as “shit posts” for the sure purpose of commission farming.

To which I propose, let's set a day where the majority of these posts can shine with no shame (unless someone spans 5 in a minute or have no description) we still want quality over quantity am I right?

What are your thoughts on this?

Also to avoid double posting;

With Hawaii being one of the prices of the war room, what other location would you fancy to visit (not necessary as a reward from the community).

Personally I’ve always wanted to visit New Zealand!

I don’t have issues with “off topic” posts as long as they are genuinely meant for discussion (like this). It’s just the rapid fire no context spam posts I don’t like.

I see where you are coming from. I must admit at first, I was guilty of rapid-fire posts. I was new to the community was super excited and wanted to engage with everyone. I now take a step back and try to add posts that will add the most value or the best discussions.

I might not always achieve it, but my heart is a good place.

Speaking of Fiji, so do I. I've heard prices are a steal and the views are to die for. I also heard that they were inviting people from all over the world to move with no visa during the pandemic (take this with a grain of salt, the person who said it was drunk, and I haven't confirm it, I just remembered it now)

There are so many places I want to travel but top of my list is:

- Italy
- France (especially the South of France)
- Greek islands
- Anywhere with a beautiful beach...Bora Bora, Maldives, Seychelles, whatevs
- USA road trip driving from San Diego to Miami (stopping to hang out with you savages all the way of course.)

Oh I have story about the Greek island!!

I’ll try to keep it short.

I took a year off after graduating high school before going to college to do some volunteer work in Austria 🇦🇹 And “learn German”. I was at my favorite pub a Wednesday night in Vienna with my good buddy. When out of nowhere this beautiful girl walks down the stairs and I had those moments where time stops and the perfect song starts in the back (the song did change right when she arrived)

I got all the courage I had went to the bar and got 2 glasses of wine (one for her one for me) and was headed to her table when a guy stoped me and asked if I was going to talk to her. Turned out to be her gay brother. Gave him the drink instead we spoke for hours and introduced to the table and before we knew it we were bar hopping (in vienna).

we got to a train the brother offered me some “cookies” we took from a paper bag, didn’t give it much thought (I should have). Next thing I remember I was getting on a bar that looked like a boat realized my buddy was no longer with us, while a bouncer was asking for my ID. To which my future wife said I was with her and it was ok. I felt a bit tipsy at this point to where I could have sworn the bar was moving, but danced it off.

I woke up “next morning” in a different flat, went outside and saw this beautiful landscape, next to the ocean and every house was white and blue. I was in Santorini.

It was Friday (party started on Wednesday and I had to work on Thursday) the “bouncer” was a police officer and the “bar” was these guy’s private boat, the police officer was asking fot my passport not my ID because I was leaving the country, and the “bar” was moving!

best trip ever!

Portugal is way up there. Not the touristy parts, the real old school parts and some good Portugal cuisine, would love to go there.

Ive been to Argentina, US, Aus, France, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Canada, Italy, Switzerland and The Netherlands and am looking to add to that.

Germany id definitely recommend Munich and Cologne. Italy, I have only spent significant time in Milan but went to Gallipoli which was really nice. Paris is an obvious choice for France but I would recommend going to one of the smaller wine towns in the south of France for a real authentic time, I went to a pretty little place in the Rhone region, was amazing. Australia is just that, everywhere is amazing. Amsterdam is iconic and I would go there in a flash, such a nice city. Argentina, I only went to BA and Rosario, both were amazing.

I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart I'm so very, very sorry.
