Out of region experience?

Hi team. *asking for a friend*

Working as a business development manager right now with 5 direct reports at the moment.

Have been here since inception in march but moved onsite in october (india Based).

Looking to stay here for 1 year, but eventually want to pack up and move back to ANZ as the wife wants to start a family.

If I wanted to look for a BDM job in ANZ, would relevant experience in India be considered? We are selling to India right now, but will expand to singapore.

FWIW, 3+ years as an ANZ BDR as well.

Are you in India right now? Dont see why it wouldnt go in your favour, Singapore will only help more though i would suspect.

You'll have a lot of cumulative experience, in addition to a lot of experience in ANZ itself. I can't imagine it would hurt you. As ever in sales, spin the experience as a positive benefit when the time comes. Having experience selling into other regions is often a good thing.

That said, it's a ways off. Do the best you can (of course) so that your excellent results stand out when you're ready to head back to ANZ.

It will for sure be considered. i would focus on your process, how successful your team was, how you hire and develop.

all those skills can transfer to any region in my mind.
