People Buy From People

I have a passion for helping companies to grow.

I have been with several startups and building a business gives me a real high.

When you are building something, and you see it succeed there is nothing better.

I love teaching salespeople how to grow, how to ask the right questions and see the results.

Keep in mind, that people buy from people, they don’t just buy products and services, you must sell yourself first.

Grab the trust of the prospect/customer and these are things I can help organizations to learn.

People also buy from machines. We had this old vending machine that got mad sales.

Welcome to the war room Andrew. How did you grab the trust of your prospects turned customers?

Asking the right questions and LISTENING to the Answers. Most people just go right into their pitch no matter what and never build a relationship.

See this is an interesting opportunity for you here at the War Room. Considering you do sales consulting (which may or may not be close to marketing in my eyes) you have an opportunity to add your 2 cents and years of market wisdom on other people's issues and questions.

I would steer away from the generic clichés though b/c as we are all salespeople we are fluent in BS and can smell a bull-shitter from a mile away. I urge you to make a good(punny) name to use as an anonymous poster and prove my opinion on sales trainers/consultants wrong and add some detailed and specific value instead of saying things that someone came up with when the dinosaurs were around like "People buy from people..."

I don't mean to be harsh but I've seen too much generic shit on LI and too much money wasted on trainers in organizations that should have gone to getting better managers, techstacks, or product development. I sincerely hope you prove me wrong here in the forum and separate yourself from the standard internet snake oil salesmen.

With my years of experience, this is not BS, this is a successful way to approach the selling industry.

People buy from people when it’s a commodity or over a competitor, however the product means a lot when buying over the status quo and needs CFO approval

Managing Partner
Disagree totally. I have outsold people for years with this belief. If the CFO needs to approve it, then whatever it is needs to meet the CFO's needs and once again that requires a person selling it and that person needs to gain trust and respect.

Yeah but if your product doesnt meet those needs, then your trust and respect do not matter to the buyer

If you make a sale and the product doesnt solve the problems they are facing, you are just talking them into doing something, then going against the trust and respect you just built

And for the most part all people trust you, yes there is suspicion since you are in sales, but most people trust people unless you give them a reason not to
If feel the main purpose of sales is to identify issues the prospect didnt know they were facing, align you products, and showcase the cost of inaction compared to the pain of buying
I agree trust is important, however, people use that phrase which leads to solely relationship sales which is not always relevant (or as important) as other ways of selling

That's whole point. If you know your customer, have a relationship then you will know if the product or service will work or not work for them. That is what really builds the trust. Simple sales 101.

You could not be more wrong unfortunately. This may be true in the construction indistry or anything antiquated where you wine and dine but not in SaaS. If there's no value, people don't care how cool you are or the relationship. Why on earth would I give you $100k just because you "built a relationship" with me???

People buy from people LIKE THEM. Maybe 1/10 people have a complementary personality to yours but at the end of the day value is king.
Anyone but the most desperate people pleasers would rather buy what they need from an obnoxious ass and timidly ghost the person who isn't fitting their needs.
