Pivot from Tech to Distribution/Manufacturing

I've been in Tech/SaaS sales for over 10 years and was laid off in May. I was making $140K and I really want to pivot to Distribution or Manufacturing and curious to hear from anyone else that's done it and can share any best practices on how to do this without sacrificing too much.

I didn’t pivot, but started there. You can make good money depending on where you land. A lot of these manufacturers and distributors have been around for awhile, and although the pay might not be as good the benefits some have (401k matching, company car, etc) can help make up for it

I have been in manufacturing sales for 8+ years. Same company for 5 1/2. Pay is low to start in this sector, but if you make it through it can pretty lucrative. However, remember it is a low margin business. The top level pay is nowhere close to top level pay in tech. Good thing there are not a lot of young people in manufacturing so lots of upward mobility.

I'm just over it and since Covid hit, I've been part of a buy out, completely false OTE claims and a lay off after not having a supervisor for a year. I'm looking for longevity and sanity in place of chasing $300K OTE's.
