Just got promoted from BDR to AE. What are the best next steps for me to take to be a successful AE?

Have a senior AE as a mentor to help get through transition pains

Sit it on your best reps Calls or pick his brain to try and build a sales process like theirs but one that works for youย

If outbound is still a part of the role, act like you are still a BDR for the first month. Pipeline cures all. And at bats are never a bad thing when getting started

Congrats!

Get your territory list. Form a Top 50 list. Research each and update contact information. Run last activity reports. Make friends with other AE's and ask for guidance.ย

Listen to disco's and demos of other AE's. Keep at it. Don't stop. When you start doing demo's, add those to the list too.ย

work on a 30-60-90 plan and share with your manager, get her/his input and agree with below, shadow top reps, solicit their help, find a mentor- be paranoid of failure and work Hard

- Shadow AE's if you aren't alreadyย

- Learn what happens in the deal after the flip

- Make sure you have a mentor

- Put together a territory plan (base it off successful AEs activities in the same role if you can).
